Set with a backdrop of a nordic noir Glasgow, my concept explored the friction between 1980s neoliberalism versus the Romantic’s ideology of environment and heritage.

Based on Ludwig Tieck’s enigmatic supernatural short story Der blonde Eckbert published in 1797 the opera, written by Judith Weir, premiered at the London Coliseum in 1994. This production is a shortened one-act version of the opera, first performed in 2006 by The Opera Group.
